Different point of view: Exhibit features '2 Women' in new show

In March, 2011, I accompanied my friend Katya Grineva, a classical pianist, to the sacred island of Naituaba, Fiji.  She wanted to go there to record her fifth CD dedicated to water, because the high spiritual vibrations and breathtaking pristine waters would be sure to inspire.

When she asked me to go along again, as this would be our second time visiting the island, I wanted to be sure to visit the Fijian village.  On our last trip I had gotten sick and was not able to see it.  I had learned that there was a primary school there with about 20 children ranging in ages 5 through 12, and thought it would be a great time for me to connect with the children and bring art supplies to them.  The weather there is so hot and humid that supplies do not have a long shelf life.  When I suggested this, my sister and niece who were also joining us on this trip, decided to pitch in as well.

So we packed our supplies and we were on our way, a very long way!!  It takes 18 1/2 hours of flying and four hours on a boat to get there.  So worth it though once you get there, because it is like paradise.  Everything is alive, lush, and vibrant.

The pictures below were taken the day we went to the Fijian Village.  The children were amazing!  They all introduced themselves and then sang a song for us and what amazing voices they had, like little angels.  They loved the art supplies and got busy right away!  They were an absolute joy to watch.  I have never seen such happy faces :)  It was a great day!
